Say Anything

Say Anything stars John Cusack in this Romantic Dramedy about two people that are graduating from high school and their lives change when they get together. Cusack's character has no real ambition in life, other than possibly becoming a professional kickboxer, but he’s not even sure about that. The girl is a brain, a pretty brain though, but most of her schoolmates don’t really know her. On a chance, Cusack decides to call her and ask her out to a party graduation night and she says yes. They fall for each other but she has been accepted to an Ivy League school and plans to leave at the end of the summer. This causes issues in their relationship that has to be dealt with and to top it off, her father is very overbearing and has plans for her future.

This movie shows off Cusack’s quarky humor, likeable character traits, and deep emotion. Say Anything also shows many different facets of emotion including humor, anger, love, and tragedy and steers away from some of the typical plot points seen in most movies of its type.

It's a very enjoyable movie and gives you something a little different from the typical Romantic comedy, so I'm going to give it an 8 out of 10. Watch it and enjoy!
