The Transporter
The Transporter stars Jason Statham, whose most famous work is playing as Hansom Rob in the Italian Job. If you're looking for action, this is the movie you're looking for. If you don't believe me, just watch the first few minutes of the movie and you'll be drawn in by the elaborate car chase in the streets of France. Statham’s character is a "by the rules" transporter, meaning that he delivers "packages" without ever asking what's in them, until one day when he breaks the rules and all hell breaks loose. The package contains a girl and this sets up the plot for the rest of the movie.
The Transporter is directed by Corey Yuen, whose is known for his work as a fight choreographer for such movies as Lethal Weapon 4 and all of Jet Li's American movies. His experience in fight scenes really shows as this movie is packed with numerous memorable fight scenes. Now the acting in this movie is not meant to "move you" nor is it meant to make you think hard, but that's okay, it's a fun movie and that keeps your interest through the whole movie. Statham is a perfect cast as the stoic yet bad-ass lead and I hope to see him in more of these roles.
Thin plot, but great fight scenes, I'm going to give it an 8.5 out 10, just because the fight scenes alone push it to an 8. Enjoy!
